Its heartwood is obviously different. The new sectionof heartwood is blood red and orange. With thepassage of time,it turned purple brown.The sapwoodis white to yellowish brown.
The texture of Padouk is very beautiful. Straightand slightly interlaced, often with dark stripes. Thetexture of the chord section is corrugated and fullof lasting appeal. The texture of the radial sectionis irregular and has a strong sense of hierarchy
