South American walnut wood, amber wood ,Monkey Pod
Growth region: Native to the tropical rainforest areas of South America, mainly distributed in countries such as Brazil, Peru, Colombia, and Ecuador.
Growth cycle: Growth is slow, and the maturation period is long. It usually takes 60 to 120 years to reach the commercial harvesting standard.
Air dry density: 0.75 - 0.85 g/cm³. The wood structure is dense, the material is stable, and it is not prone to deformation.
Texture: The texture is rich and diverse, featuring common patterns such as straight lines, mountain patterns, and ripple textures, etc. It has a sense of depth and artistic appeal. The color contrast between heartwood and sapwood is obvious. The sapwood is milky white, while the heartwood ranges from light brown to dark chocolate color, occasionally with purple or dark streaks.

Color: Initially, it presents a rich purple-brown or chocolate hue, with a faint metallic luster. As the usage time increases, the color becomes deeper and more elegant.

Performance: The wood is hard and elastic, with moderate bending strength and impact resistance. It has high compressive strength, good dimensional stability after drying, and is not prone to mold or cracking.
Furniture manufacturing: Often used in the production of high-end furniture such as dining tables, tea tables, desks, and conference tables, its unique texture and color can add a natural and warm texture to the space.

Interior decoration: Suitable for interior decoration of buildings, as well as high-end fine woodworking products such as floors, wall panels, door and window casings, etc. It can create a low-key yet luxurious atmosphere.
Craftsmanship carving: It is the preferred material for master carvers to create timeless masterpieces. It can be used to make sculptures, decorative items, tableware, and other handicrafts. By taking advantage of its texture features, creative carvings can be made, showcasing unique artistic value.

The South American rainwood is not only a high-quality timber resource, but also carries the cultural memory of the tropical rainforests in South America. In the restoration of some historically significant buildings or the inheritance of traditional craftsmanship, it plays an important role, continuing the historical thread and allowing future generations to feel the wisdom and skills of the predecessors.
Due to the long growth cycle and limited reserves of South American rainforest wood, as well as the strict protection measures taken by the local government to protect the ecological environment regarding forest resources, the supply of this resource is extremely limited. Therefore, rational utilization and protection of South American rainforest wood resources, and achieving sustainable development, have become an important issue currently facing us.
