Summary        

Dahoma is a hardwood from tropical Africa, growing 30-50 m tall with trunk diameters of 1-1.8 m.
Grain is typically interlocked, texture coarse and even, with medium natural luster. Heartwood
fluoresces medium to bright yellow under black light. Freshly cut wood has an unpleasant ammonia
smell, odorless when dry but revives when rewetted. May cause eye, skin, and throat irritation.
Sometimes used as an oak substitute, resembling mahogany.
