In the world of woodworking and construction, Okoume stands out as a remarkable and versatile material. Derived from the Aucoumea klaineana tree, which is native to the lush equatorial forests of West Africa, particularly Gabon, the Republic of the Congo, and Río Muni, Okoume has found its way into numerous applications across various industries.
Its heartwood is orange-red to light reddish-brown, and the sapwood is grayish-white. It is renowned for its delicate pinkish-brown tone and fine, straight grain. The 25mm/50mm/75mm-thick dried boards have undergone strict drying treatment, with a kiln-dried moisture content of 10-12%, offering excellent stability. The grade is AA, and there are no knots.
The air-dried density is approximately 0.43 g/cm³, classifying it as a light and soft wood. With a low density of 450 kg/m³, it is easy to handle and transport. Processing operations such as sawing, drilling, and sanding can be carried out effortlessly without any difficulty. It has moderate bending strength, dries quickly, and is not prone to cracking or deformation, enabling it to adapt to different climatic conditions.
Furniture Manufacturing: It can be used for cabinet back panels, drawer side panels, light-duty frames, etc. Its lightweight feature reduces the overall weight of the furniture, making it easy to move and use.
Interior Decoration: Suitable for door core panels, baseboards, artistic suspended ceilings, etc. The light pinkish-brown color and uniform straight grain become more high-end after being coated with clear varnish or dyed, which can enhance the overall aesthetics of interior decoration.
Instrument Models: It can be used as a material for guitar side panels, aircraft models, wood carvings, etc. Its excellent stability helps ensure the quality and precision of instruments and models.
