● Decorative textures create a beautiful finish.

Zebrawood typically reaches a height of approximately 30 meters, with a diameter ranging from 1.0 to 1.5 meters. In terms of color characteristics, its yellow-brown heartwood is covered with straight black stripes, while the sapwood is yellowish-white.
Classified as a diffuse-porous wood with irregularly arranged capillaries, zebrawood appears to have straight grain, but in reality, the grain is fine and interlocked. This interlocked grain is one of the key features of zebrawood, often referred to as "linear grain." The wood has a coarse texture. Due to differences in color and density between the linear grain lines, the wood is not uniform in structure, but overall, it is heavy and hard.
Owing to its complex interlocked grain, drying zebrawood is relatively difficult, and issues such as deformation, small cracks, and burrs may occur during the process. Since parallel cutting tends to cause splitting, cutting perpendicular to the center of the log is actually the common practice.
Zebrawood is native to the tropical rainforests of West Africa, including countries like Gabon, Nigeria, and Cameroon. In recent years, it has been listed as an endangered tree species, resulting in restrictions on its export volume. It is now difficult to obtain wide or thick lumber panels of zebrawood; therefore, in practical applications, solid wood veneers are mostly used instead.
Zebrawood has relatively stable wood after drying, so it is often used to make furniture. Its cutting processing is convenient, and it can show a glossy finish through polishing with sandpaper. Furthermore, zebrawood produces a unique acidic fragrance during artificial drying. However, the white part at its edges is prone to bacterial growth, so boards with edge wood are rarely used.
